Carrier Grades
Carrier grade medals are able to be lost and gained, depending on your performance.
A landing will be graded with points as follows:
- cut | 0 pts
- — (no-grade) | 2pts
- (OK) (fair) | 3pts
- OK (good) | 4pts
- OK_ (excelent) | 5pts
A point must be subtracted if:
- The pilot had a bolter of his own fault.
- The pilot ignored the LSO waveoff call with enough time to react.
- The abeam distance was more than 1.5 nm or less than 0.9 nm (5460ft).
- The pattern was flown unsafely.
A point must be added if:
- Total wind exceeds 10 knots.
- The crosswind component exceeds 5 knots.
Only one point may be subtracted and only one point may be added per trap.
There are four grades:
- Grade D - 1 pts average. (expected from ensign)
- Grade C - 2 pts average. (expected from luitennant)
- Grade B - 3 pts average. (expected from commander)
- Grade A - 4 pts average.
You drop a grade if you get below the average of the grade below yours, so this should not happen.
The average is taken from the best 4 landings out of the last 5.
